Lisa’s leaving ‘do’

Lisa’s leaving ‘do’

Rev Lisa’s final service in St Paul’s was well attended by 140+ adults and lots of children. The party afterwards in St Andrew’s was a great success, too.

After 15 years in our parish she has moved back to her ‘spiritual home’ in Didsbury.

Revd. Lisa has chosen to have a menorah as a gift from our church families and has ordered this from America. When it arrives she will take some photos and  they will be published in a Newsletter.

Can you help again this year in one of these ways –

~ by your prayers

~ by filling a shoebox for Sunday 5th Nov.

~ by donating items for the boxes or money.

Boxes to be packed on Tue 7 Nov in St Paul’s at 1.30 (instead of Time Out) and collected on 11/12 Nov. Come and help if you can. Leaflets available in both churches.

Messy Baptism

Messy Baptism

On Saturday 2nd September we had our first baptism at Messy Church.  It was great, enjoyed by babies right through to grandparents! Welcome to Jamie-Leigh and Lucas, now part of our church family. Thank you to Jamie and Rachael for making it possible – and who are now planning their wedding!!

Big thanks to all who helped either preparing  or helping out on the day. Wonderful food, fun activities, a lovely atmosphere and great hospitality all helped to make it a day to remember.

Goodbye, Rev Lisa.

Goodbye, Rev Lisa.

If you had not already heard, sadly, after 15 years, Rev. Lisa is moving on. She will be leaving us at the beginning of October.

She is leaving us to take up a post at St James and Emmanuel in Didsbury, her original ‘sending’ parish. This position is half time and will allow her to spend more time with John and also to pursue her interests and General Synod duties.

Her last service will be on Sunday 1st October. It will be a joint Holy Communion service at St Paul’s, followed by a party at St Andrew’s.
