Malcolm Duncan

Malcolm, a regular speaker at Spring Harvest, is passionate about the need for Christians to be ‘good-news people’ and the importance of combining preaching, service, advocacy, prayer and partnership so that followers of Jesus can be effective in changing the world.

He regularly helps the government and other groups to understand the role of Church in society and encourages local churches and Christian groups to be the change that they want to see in their community. He is deeply committed to serving the poor and excluded.

<!–more–>

From 2005 to 2008, Malcolm was leader of Faithworks with responsibility for inspiring, leading and developing the Faithworks movement across the world. Prior to this, Malcolm was head of church and mission for the Evangelical Alliance where he was responsible for leading the Alliance’s commitment to over 3000 churches in the work of evangelism, mission, prayer and social responsibility.

A leader of local churches for a number of years, in September 2010 Malcolm took up a new appointment as the team leader of Gold Hill Baptist Church. In his leadership roles he has been actively involved in helping churches serve their local communities, establishing a number of community initiatives including advice centres, neighbourhood forums, neighbourhood-watch schemes, debt clinics and other projects specific to local needs.

Malcolm is a passionate communicator and over the past ten years has regularly written, broadcast, taught and lectured on the themes of mission and Christian engagement with society. He has written two books, Building a Better World and Kingdom Come.

He is married to Debbie, a nurse practitioner. They have four wonderful children and live in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire.

It is a privilege to welcome Malcolm as speaker for this year’s Flourish and we eagerly anticipate what he has to share with us!
